GRE subject for chemical engineering

I'm chem e with minors in com sci and math. Is it a good idea to take the math or chemistry GRE subject test if I want to go to a good grad school?

I see that many people object that one should even bother if he's in engineering, but I also see people encouraging engineers to take subject tests.

You might want to talk to your professors about grad school admissions. Most grad school applicants take zero or one GRE subject test, not two or three. A minor in math would probably not prepare you to take the math subject test, but I highly doubt that chem e programs would expect you to take it since it focuses on pure proof-based mathematics. (Most applied math or statistics programs don’t expect math subject GRE scores either!)

Have you looked at the subject GREs you consider taking? Do you think you could do well on them?

I skimmed the math subject test review’s table of contents. I peed my pants just a little bit.

For chemistry, I think I have the potential to do well if I study for it.
