A friend asked me this, but grad school stuff really isn’t my thing. Her ds is interesting in grad school and has told her that the deadline for registering for the GRE is April for September test dates. Is that correct? I took the GRE 13 years ago and don’t remember having to register that far ahead. TIA
@Youdon’tsay For the computerized GRE General test, you can register pretty late (given that there are seats available). For example, I am theoretically able to sign up for a test next week. However seats can fill up quickly, so in general it’s a good idea to register early if you know a certain date works.
She might unknowingly be referring to GRE Subject tests (they are only offered ~3 times per year), in which you should register fairly well in advance. But not 4 months in advance.
