Great Advice from Admissions Officers

<p>Yesterday's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette had an OUTSTANDING article on college admissions entitled "Getting In." The newspaper surveyed admissions officers at over 30 colleges for their advice and tips on choosing colleges and boosting admissions chances. The advice is superb, basically a "how to" primer for applicants. Here is the link:</p>

<p>I really like this article b/c it's not the same old same old from HYP. Lots of these are schools that regular good students might apply to. Thanks!</p>

<p>Thank you, Carolyn, for pointing us to that wonderful article. I hope peolple take the time to read the whole thing; some of the best comments are towards the end. I particularly liked this comment on fit:</p>

<p>"Take the time to research a wide variety of schools at first, and visit those that interest you. Where are you are most likely to be challenged without being overwhelmed? Where are you most likely to make friends and be prepared for a successful life? "</p>

<p>Also, the woman from Temple and the athletic/admissions coordinator at Jesuit College have something fresh to say, and they say it well.</p>
