anyone know any good classes i can take as a freshman that are worth 2-3 units? i've already looked at all the freshman/sophomore seminars and nothing really works for me.

Psychology classes are 3 units, shouldn’t be too hard. If you can find a UD topic you like or good professor they’re somewhat interesting and some don’t need prereqs. I don’t know how hard Psych 1/2 are.

I’ve taken Psych 2. It’s lecture only with no discussion. Very easy class, just straight up memorization. The material was interesting, but mostly intuitive.

^ I agree. I’m taking it now, have never done any of the reading, and I’ve aced both midterms so far with minimal studying. My GSI (Rosner) is really fun, entertaining and extremely lenient on grading. I’ve essentially finished the course considering that there’s little to no homework and my GSI only takes the two best exams of 3 (as long as you score >60% on each). Now as long as I get >60% on the final, I’ll get an A in the class, meaning that I get to do even less work than I normally do, which means rarely going to the lectures anymore.

Public health 103 - drugs, health and society - is supposed to be easy and fun. I’m on the waiting list and hope to get in.

@187: heh, i took psych c120 over the summer, 3 midterms no final, and it was best 2 of 3 and he said he was cool if we didn’t show up to the last one… :P

Almost every class is entertaining and useful when you take it P/NP…

PH 181 if you can get in is pretty easy. there are some non-majors who are in it right now

Ethnic Studies 100 was not fun, interesting, or useful and I took it P/NP.

I’m going to take Psych 2 for fun though/if possible, a grade booster.

Does it matter which GSI you get for Psych 2?

thanks for the suggestions! any others?
