<p>That raising the tuition for prestige argument might make sense for some, but not for anyone value conscious. When U of Richmond played this game for the applicant pool of 2005 ours went right into the circular file…</p>

<p>Depending on what your D wants to study, Virginia Tech could be a consideration. </p>

<p>If you are looking at Davidson and Rice, you will love William & Mary. Very similar institution with more history and cheaper price tag.</p>

<p>The table linked to in post #43 shows that full OOS cost at all the UCs and Cal Poly meets the OP’s criteria.</p>

<p>Tulane. Hefty price tag of approximately $48,000, but gives significant merit aid of up to $24,000 per year. Additional merit scholarships also available with additional applications.</p>

<p>Very selective, small classes, heavy research, culture of community service and giving back.</p>
