I'm looking for a college with a strong computer science/technology program. To which five of the following schools should I apply?

University of Delaware
Dickinson
Lehigh
Franklin and Marshall
Lynchburg
Villanova
University of NC/Chapel Hill
Allbright
Wesley

Are there any other schools in the MD/DE/VA/PA/NC area that I should research? Thanks so much!

Lehigh is known for engineering, so if you’re looking into the techy/engineering side of computers, that’s a good school. Carnegie Mellon is probably the one of most famous schools for compsci. It’s in Pittsburgh, PA. It’s super selective though. Collegeboard says the admission rate is 22% but the School of Computer Science is around 11% because it’s really competitive. I’m also looking at computer science/engineering and my guidance counselor told me to look at Villanova, although I haven’t had the time to check it out yet.

Franklin & Marshall will just be starting their CS program this coming fall (we visited in February). Lafayette is strong in engineering; don’t know their reputation in CS. U. of Md and Va Tech are probably larger than you’d like, based on your previous posts, but both have great reputations. NC State also has a good rep.
