Great Information Technology/Systems Program in Maryland?

What is the best school in Maryland that has a great IT/IS program?

Are you focused on Maryland because you want the advantage of lower in-state, public school costs? If so, look first at UMCP (which probably has the best balance of numerous course offerings, overall quality, and cost). If you want a smaller public school, check out UMBC. If money is no object (or you clearly qualify for need-based aid), if your stats are high, and you want a liberal arts / Computer Science program (not “IT”) consider Johns Hopkins.

If you are already working, and just want to finish your degree, or if you have a complicated family situation that makes it difficult to go “away” for your studies, look at [UMUC - Homepage](http://www.UMUC.edu)

You can use the MHEC website to search for programs in MD: [Search Major](http://www.mhec.state.md.us/utilities/search_major.asp)

For example, if you think UMCP is too big, and UMBC is too isolated, and you don’t have the profile for JHU, Towson might work for you.

I see from your other posts that you are currently at one of the community colleges here in MD. In that case, your best advice is probably to be had in your very own department, and through the office of your CC’s Transfer Advisor. Ask about the experiences of students like you who have transferred within MD, and take a look at http://artweb.usmd.edu/</a> to get an idea about which places will give you the best transfer options.

Wishing you all the best!
