<p>I am in the process of trying to select a lender for our first loans. As we will have sub, unsub and Parent PLUS, I want to make sure I have all the details/information correct. Due to the interest rate and no fees I am leaning towards Discover. They informed me that Great Lakes services their loans and provided the phone number.</p>
<p>As I will be spending a number of years dealing with whomever services the loans, I wanted to call and confirm a few facts. I was very disappointed by the time I hung up the phone. Not at all helpful, almost to the point of rudeness. Even though I phrased a question regarding interest several times, all she would give me was a "canned" answer which she would not clarify.</p>
<p>I must say I do not have the "warm fuzzies" about Great Lakes right now. Does anyone have any experience with them? Did I ust get a bad rep or are they really this difficult to deal with?</p>
