There isn’t a lot of info about pharmaceutical sciences online. Usually, when I search up pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences all I get are results for pharmD or pharmacy. :-< Is there any one who knows a whole lot about this career path?I’m really interested in the development of drugs. Are there colleges that pharmaceutical companies prefer recruiting from? What are the best schools? Also, what is the best path to take to become a pharmacologist? Is the school you go to for undergrad particularly important for this field? What undergrad major would best fit the path that needs to be taken? I just spewed out a butt load of questions, haha. Sorry! Please help this curious soul. :D/

You will need to major in biology or chemistry, also have courses in pharmacology. You will need a PhD or a PharmD to be a pharmacologist.
You could go to any quality undergraduate school and major in biology/chemistry or any of its subfields (e.g. organic chem, biophysics, molecular biology etc.) and be prepared to pursue a PhD in a field that would be applicable to drug design. That could be medicinal chemistry/pharmacology or it could be a biological sciences PhD with a focus on a topic that relates to drug design such as structural biology, biophysics, receptor-ligand interactions etc. If you’re interested in basic science research in the field of drug development/design you want a PhD, not a PharmD.
