Great SAT Vocab List

are you sure this list is from the Rocket Review Revolution? Because the .PDF file has no title...it's merely a document with the words listed 1-323...

can someone confirm?

This is indeed Rocket Review's list, at least the beginning words are what I recall.

it is...because i bought it...lol...yea there is no title on the PDF file and all but thats how it really is

lol alright thanks just checkin'...very nice of you to post it when you bought it and none of us did.

in ur post did u type up all of those words? cuz u cant copy and paste from a pdf file

thx again

You can output a PDF file as a .txt file, I doubt he typed it all.

yea i didn't type it...just copied and paste for people who didn't want to download

Okay, the list is good, but come on, I'm not going to study like 2000 words. Are you crazy! Besides, I'v heard that studying silly lists doesn't help at all -- lists may be okay to help you refresh, but to learn new words? Does anyone have any better advice?

Turn the lists into flashcards.

You can setup a word marco to separate them for you if you wish. However, you may remember them better if you type them all out.

depends. For me it worked well because i'm not a good guesser. When i know the word, i know it, and when i don't, i don't. Different people use different methods. I would strongly suggest going over the rocket review words. they're not too hard

I've had trouble teaching high school kids new words, and as I've told other people elsewhere, it's all about making it fun. Studying off of lists sometimes does help, but not often. I recommend these websites which provide good verbal help:

Good luck everyone!

bump bump bump

study all the root-words and some basic connotations and it will be so much better than memorizing esoteric and obscure words

^ I second that! that's what most people do when memorizing words for the national spelling bee. sadly, i know this from experience.
now go take a crash course in latin and german roots!

i agree with some of the the people above...this is NOT a good list, i just took the jan SAT

Jan SAT Vocabularies have been exceptionally 'hard' as everyone agrees w/ this. So, u can't really decide on this word list in consideration to Jan SAT.

i think it is better to put the words of same meanings together instead of A-Z orders

this list is a polish, if you’re in the 95th percentile or higher. (and i certainly wasn’t when i started studying) i started with the blue book words and the lists at [Fusion Academy: 100s of Free SAT Lessons & Quizzes: Reading, Math, Writing, Vocabulary](http://www.fusionacademy.us) These got me ready to tackle the words like the ones in this list.

Why is no one suggesting Direct Hits?

reminds me of my good ol’ barrons

only barrons list is unbeatable. i have done the DH and Rocket Review from cover to cover and still miss about 4 SC questions. no matter how hard i try, so far i havent been able to improve this. and my SAT is tomorrow!
