Great SATs/Medium GPA

I'm an Indian Male(South-Asian) from Houston, TX. I attend a highly competitive public school, ranked in the top 5 in the state amongst both Public and Private Schools. My stats/ecs are as follows:

SAT I: 1600
SAT IIs: Writing: 800
Biology: 800
Literature: 800
US History: 800
World History: 800
AP: US History-5
World History-5
Music Theory-5
(I'm taking 11 AP tests in May because I was planning on doing Early Graduation and studied for 3 extra tests to save some money in college. I've been studying since Jan./Feb.)
PSAT: 236

Class Rank: Top 15% of class of 800+
GPA (unweighted): 3.34

The situation was that I was going to early graduate this year as a junior, and I was accepted into two top US-News ranked schools. But, my parents decided appx. two weeks ago that they wanted me to stay one more year. I have already committed to one of the Ivy school I was accepted into, however my grades for the
first semester were pretty bad, and this semester they are better however they still have a few remaining Bs.

ECs:
Piano: 4 solo performances at Rice University
National Youth Artist performance at Carnegie Hall
Practice(until this semester) 18-21 hours/wk
-that's all I'll list
Thinkquest: 1st place internationally in webdesign competition(project on HIV drug patents)-cash prize of up to $25k
Student Government: Vice President of Student/Administration coalition
Research: Published twice while working in the Texas Heart Institute on papers regarding artherosclerosis
Submitted Westinghouse and Young Epidemiology Scholars paper, that although was not a winner, received a little local praise for analyzing prevalence of obesity in high school youth
Work: Worked as an EKG reader for county medical practice

Do my Extra Curricular activities and High SAT scores compensate for my GPA? I have about 6 Bs, and 2 Cs on my transcript as of now. My senior year classes will be Chem II, Art History, Geography II, Statistics, Latin IV, English IV and Debate(all except debate being AP)-pretty much all guaranteed high As(but as some would say, I can never know). All my other grades are high(97-99). It sounds odd, but because I was already in, I felt there was no need to try.

But I want to try something along the lines of University of Chicago/Cornell/Dartmouth Early Decision. My other choices include Harvard(I was deferred from them Early Action this year-am now on the waiting list), the other Ivys, UC Berk, Rice, UMich-Honors, WashU, and Duke.

Thanks for any help. I would really appreciate it.

If you're real, I'd say you're ecs would make up for your low GPA, although I'm not sure about your SATs. I had a friend with a 1590 SAT and SAT IIs of 800, 800 and 780. GPA was probably 3.5 ish and class rank was probably 50/500. He applied to every ivy and got rejected from everyone. He was a genius, but I think his transcript showed that he hadn't cared or worked hard in high school. He goes to Chicago though so that's not bad. ON the other hand, if the reason your GPA is low is because you work so hard at piano that might compensate for it.
Which schools were you already accepted at?

Holy crap your SATs and EC's are amazing, I think you probably should bring it up b/c colleges do look at GPA first

wow, that is phenomenal stuff. yea, get a 4.0 in ur classes and emphasize ur ECs and you're pretty much in to most of them except probably Harvard (in which you have a decent shot)

Thanks for all the feedback. I got into UPenn, Cal Tech, UMichigan, Rice, and the Juilliard School. I was deferred from Harvard SCEA and then again waitlisted, like I currently am at Yale.

Thanks again, and more responses would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and to whoever commented. There would be absolutely no reason to lie about my extra curriculars. I'm not looking for praise here even though I'm thrilled to receive it. I'm sincerely looking for suggestions and tips because I have a weakness in my application, and I have strengths. Thanks for checking it all out.

Anymore comments?

Wow, you are amaziiiiinnngggg! In my opinion, your ecs and test scores make up for the gpa. Plus, you've got another year to bring the gpa up and i doubt colleges are going to reject you because of one iffy semester (especially if you do better next year.) But then again, you never know with the ivys...

I honestly dont get it, if you already got into all those schools, why are you asking your chances?

W-T-F.. you're a MACHINE

hey, good job on getting into....pretty much everywhere

If I were you I'd go to upenn, but thats because I want to undergrad in business.

Seeing as your a very talented musician, i'd go to julliard. I mean, its your passion right? Not anyone can pull off perfect SAT scores, amazing EC"s and still find the time to fit in hours of practice a day. Unless your a prodigy.

I'd say your chances are great everywhere, your gpa, sure could be better but with all the other stuff you've done you have a great chance everywhere.

youre a shoe-in at the schools youre interested in, especially ed/ea. harvard and yale surely did miss a true asset and i suggest you not worry any further - youre more than fine.
