Great Stats- no acceptance letter?

Anyone else out there apply by the Dec 10th deadline and still haven't heard anything? My D has 1550 combined, 800, 760,710, 4.0 uw, Rank # 1, lots of EC, and hasn't heard anything. Someone on another thread said they sent in appl Dec 31, stats not as good, but have already been accepted. Does anyone know if it depends on what college you applied to? My D applied to the Film School. which I know is extremely competititve, but we were told, if don't get into school of 1st choice wouldn't hurt chances to get in 2nd choice letters & science, and wouldn't matter in terms of scholarships. Has Anyone been accepted who applied to the Film School? Thanks.

Film school acceptances don't come out until April from what I've heard...still waiting (but have my acceptance to USC and the school of Communication in hand)...still waiting to hear about scholarships too...yikes...scared!

cboryca, are you expecting to hear about a scholarship in the next couple/few days?

I hope I hear...otherwise...maybe getting accepted this early doesn't really mean anything...because everyone else seems to have gotten scholarship notification.

I applied to the school of theatre (only BA, though, so no audition), and I still haven't received an acceptance or scholarship interview invite even though I have the kind of stats that should merit an interview. I'm kind of worried, though--like, is the fact that I applied to the school of theatre (which I don't even want to go to anymore, but I did indicate economics as my other intended major) keeping me from getting accepted early? Hopefully your daughter and I will receive large packets from USC within the next few days.

sarah, I applied to the School of Theatre (as a BFA though) and got my acceptance letter a few days ago. They accepted me as a BA for now until I have my BFA interview, after which they'll reconsider me. I don't think I qualify for a merit scholarship, so I have no idea why they sent me an early letter. Anyway, just wanted to say that my case disproves your stated worry. I doubt there is a problem with your application :) Good luck!

I think the overall admissions has to accept you first, then passes on to the major...I got a general accept. and an architecture accept. enclosed with it.

"I hope I hear...otherwise...maybe getting accepted this early doesn't really mean anything...because everyone else seems to have gotten scholarship notification."

cboryca, did you get your scholarship info today?... I didn't...

dlindhol...I didn't get anything yet...I'm losing my mind. Especially since I got my acceptance on Thursday and it had been postmarked the 1st of Feb....I feel like I should have gotten something else by now.

I feel exactly the same way... I've gotten really angry when I haven't seen the letter in the mail... Maybe we are only going to get a half tuition scholarship or are those offered to th epeople who interview for the full but dont get the full?

i don't know...some kid on a different thread said that he got invited to interview for the presidential scholarship specifically though...

would it be a good idea to just call their admissions office and ask if ur gonna be getting scholarship??? or when presidential is coming out?

I just got my letter for the Presidential Scholarship. It was dated Feb. 2. So I assume it's out.

I think you are talking about me (applied Dec 31, "stats not as good")...I applied to Engineering, which is probably why I already heard back...

I'm a 4000SAT/Valedictorian and my sister just graduated from USC and I still haven't gotten anything. Please tell me this is Tufts' Syndrome!

WOW...Nice work on the 4000....Um, what is Tufts' Syndrome?

Pardon my ignorance- what's Tufts' syndrome?

Oh my gosh I'm totally freaking out about this--I still haven't gotten ANYTHING!!! al0, the fact that you still haven't heard from USC reassures me a little...I think (once I find out what the Tufts' Syndrome is). Let's hope and pray for something in our mailboxes tomorrow...sigh.

tufts syndrome is when a school waitlists overqualified students because they think they're being used as a saftey

Still nothing.... Why?!? If I don't get the full scholarship, I'll have to scratch USC from my list. I don't think it's Tuft's Syndrome, because I didn't apply to any Ivies or anything more prestigious than NYU, so USC's surely not a safety for me (colleges can find out where else you applied, right? That might've even been a question on the USC app...don't remember).
