You think that was bad? Wait till the Jay-Metallica collabo drops

I agree

Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon
Nirvana- Nevermind
Queens of the Stoneage- Songs for the deaf
Nirvana- in Utero
311- 311
System of a down- Toxicity

greatest ever or my all time favorite? as far as hip-hop goes i love black on both sides...

Really?

I thought the album was good, but "Blackstar" was way overatted in my opinion. I'm more partial to old school hip hop though, so I guess I'm biased...

the old school stuff i like is like regulate by warren G...I didn't listen to anything other than R & B up until a few years ago...but no one I know has even heard of Mos def or Kweli so overrated? how bout illadelph Halflife I like that one too...

Word, I love The Roots. If you ever get the opportunity, go to a Roots show...easily one of the best hip hop shows you will ever see. Them, Cypress Hill, Tribe Called Quest, Mobb Deep, MOP are all incredible shows.

I wouldn't characterize my taste under any particular hip hop genre, Mobb Deep will always be my favorite act, even though they stink now, but I like mostly non-gansta acts; Lord Finesse, Tribe, De La Soul, Gangstarr, Common etc.

i loved Tribe then q-tip had to go all vivrant thing on us...but i would love to see the roots live...but I live in the middle of nowhere...45 mins north of boston in a town near a city called lowell

He not only went, vivrant thing, he went hippy directly thereafter. For awhile he had some quartet of hippy singers and what doing shows with Sheryl Crow.

Word is a new Tribe album is supposed to drop soon, so I guess Tip understands now: we like the abstract Tip, not some hippy freak.

But yeah, I live in the middle of nowhere to. I've seen shows, but yeah, I've got to drive an awfully long ways to see them now. I was lucky enough to go to HS in NYC though, so I got to see alot of good stuff...I miss those days. Now I live in Boston the most vanilla waffer town in the history of civilization

yea i moved to the boston area from Cali (san jose bay area) I cannot wait for georgetown next fall...but I hope they actually come out with an album...you always hear things and end up dissappointed (mos def's new album)

Both Rakim and Tribe were supposed to drop albums last year :(

But yeah, isn't Boston absolutely the most boring town you've ever lived in? Holy moly man, its not even funny. It's like the whole town shuts down at 8PM...I challenge you to find a McDonalds downtown or anywhere in a 2 mile radius that is open past 8PM. It's unbelievable.

Boston don't like hip hop too much, not the way NYC does. Guru's from Boston though

yea...Boston isn't too fun although people here seem to love it...and I hate dunkin donuts...the donuts are stale and the coffee is nasssty...but I'm biased against the city cuz i never wanted to move here in the first place...and the supposed hip hop station jamn has a five song rotation that consists of 50-cent and whatever other idiot is popular at the moment...sooo unbelievably frustrating! But if you're rich and love to shop Boston is a great place to be.

Thats because they've all lived in Maine and Vermont their entire lives, so compared to the woods, yeah I suppose Boston is entertaining. But if you've lived in any other city, especially New York you'll recognize Boston for what it is

It sounds like most of you guys only listen to music that was made in the last 10-20 years. Music has spanned hundreds of years, theres more than just hip hop and rap...theres also trip hop...and vin diesel.

i only listen to stuff made after i was about 5...bad habit i guess

Nah, I'm big into 50's rock, surfboard rock now especially...

But hip hop will always be my first love

Best Album- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club

Best album: Mobb Deep "The Infamous"

"I never sleep cuz sleep is the cousin of death..." everytime i see your name it reminds of that verse which is now stuck in my head

3ft high and rising, paid in full, peoples instictive travels and the paths of rhythm, by all means necessary, strictly business, straight outta compton, it takes a nation of millions to hold us back, licensed to ill, king of rock, radio, etc...

pretty much stopped listening to music after tupac. glad it's only albums, i'd have too big a list of individual songs. (haven't even touched upon rock or new wave either) :)

Instead of saying f--- tomorrow
That buck that boaght the bottle
Could have struck the lotto"

Thats a shame because many, not alot but many, good artists have come out since his death. Check: The Coup, Little Brother, Immortal Technique, etc
