greatest SAT improvement

fresh, look at you man. You jumped 800 points…so if I were you I wouldn’t be talking my friend. .

My jump was very reasonable seeeing as how i jumped 800 pts from 8th to 11th. In 8th i didn’t take Alg. II or Geometry, harming my math score. I also didn’t know high level vocabulary and i never learned any writing rules but had to naively sound out the writing choices. I guess the better question would have been if swaggerrer had jumped 780 from middle school to high school.
Honestly, i didn’t mean any harm by my initial statement.

Well let’s add this question into play. How did you prep after taking it the first time? I got a 2150 first time but I hope to raise it. Do most people just buy a blue book and just start taking practice tests in a timed session?

October junior year:
CR-550
M-690
W-580
M&CR: 1240
Total: 1820

October Senior Year (after a year of AP English):
CR: 640
M: 700
W: 620
M&CR: 1340
Total: 1960

I started preparing in August before my senior year (I took it last March and underperformed). I have increased my score 300-350 points which is hefty considering that this improvement started above the 2000-level.

sophomore PSAT without studying: 202

practice SAT’s: 2280-2340
october SAT: 2250

planning to take it one more time

Just for clarification:

Oct. 2007 (sophomore year PSAT): 154
Oct. 2008 (junior year PSAT): 162
Jan. 2009 (junior year SAT): 1840
Oct. 2009 (senior year SAT): 2320

april junior year => 1950 (no study)
october senior year => 2190 (some math study and essay study… still got a 7 on the essay)
