Can someone tell me about greek life at Georgetown. I understand that the Uni doesn't recognize any frats or sororities but I heard there are still two social fraternities. Do these fraternities still have pretty big parties? Do they have houses? Do they have formals? Are the kids in the fraternities normally pretty cool people? I'd love any insight on the topic that you can give.

That is not techically true, the University only recognizes APO, which is the community service coed frat. The other major frat is DPE, the Foreign Service frat/sorority, while not univeristy recognized, is still fairly large and has a house on Prospect Street. These are not average frats though, for example, DPE is entirely a professional frat, not a social one, and APO takes community service extemely seriously and is also not a social-party frat. There are also a few other frats and sororites, such as SAE and KKG, but they are not very large and quite honestly are not very respected. Almost all social life at Georgetown is driven by clubs, such as the Corp, the Hoya, and the International Relations Club, which have plenty of events. Frat life is not very big at Georgetown.
