Greek Life at NYU: Fraternities and Sororities

Hi guys!
Most of you are probably considering NYU or just got accepted. So I'm here to tell you a little bit about Greek Life at NYU.

First of all: You can check out the Inter Greek Council website. This is the governing body of all the fraternities and sororities at NYU.

If you are interested in learning more about sororities, check out the NYU Panhellenic Council Blog or our Facebook Group

If you are interested in learning more about fraternities, you can visit hteInterfraternity Council at New York University website

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hestiate to ask!

which sororities and fraternities are more asian friendly?
which are the more social and party and which are the more committed to academic excellence?

agree ^~^ which ones are more asian friendly ^~^ wanan noe

pi delta psi, lambda something something are the 2 asian male fraternities pretty much haha

why asian? NYC is all about diversity!

and im chinese btw

Can we talk about this AFTER getting in? lol

ahaha qiao. This is John

hey guys. if you want to check out NYU Pi Delta Psi (Asian cultural fraternity) visit our website: [NYU PDPSI - Home](http://www.nyupdpsi.com)

yo john… “oh noooo” haha

i’m actually looking into a more “asian friendly” frat too lol i have a few friends down at rutgers in pi delta psi and a couple of friends in lambda phi epsilon up in binghamton… i’ve heard they’re all the same but it seems to me like the people in the pi frat are closer to each other…

would you guys be interested in going with me to some rush events when next semester starts?

Firsthand accounts are always better than hearing from friends. Check it out for yourself first if you can.

I’m from Pi Delta Psi. If you’re by the nyu area and want to check out a rush event or two, feel free to hit me up.

is it weird for a junior transfer to rush?

i know nyu greek life has mixers at bars and stuff, but does it have like mixers and keg parties at people’s apartments or the fraternity and sorority houses? and if so, are they good?

yea there are a lot of them. Not so much public parties though, cause of space constraints. There have been a lot of sick rooftop keggers though. It depends largely on the fraternities too, though. The top frats like Pike, AEPi, and Zeta Psi usually throw good ones, while the other ones tend to throw events that kind of…well, suck.

ok, i guess the same applies for sororities too?

Can someone elaborate on the sororities? Are there any with bad reps?

I heard AePhi (the Jewish sorority) hazes TERRIBLY. I also heard the top sororities are DPHiE and ZTA, with PiPhi being okay and AST and KKG being not so great. I’m going to rush next fall so this is just what I’ve heard so far, but I’m not actually in Greek life yet so I don’t know how accurate these reputations are.
