Hi guys,
I am a rising freshman at Vanderbilt and I had a question regarding Greek life. I know I don't want to rush; I did some research and decided the process isn't really for me. My concern is that I won't be able to party if I'm not in a sorority. I know Greek life at Vanderbilt is very active, so I was wondering, can students (or girls) not involved in the Greek system still party? Or does the social scene revolve around Greek row? Obviously this isn't my main concern going into college, but it would be nice to know. Thanks!

Girls who are not in sororities are still more than welcome at any Greek-hosted event. There is plenty of “partying” that is outside of Greek life as well, just not massive house parties, which can really only take place on Greek Row.

Going into your first semester, I would at least give rush a chance. Formal rush isn’t until the Fall so you can make your decision later. Wouldn’t count yourself out. You find yourself more interested in the process after spending a semester on campus and learning more about Greek life. Just sayin.
