<p>Son is interested in pledging a fraternity at any school he attends. It has been a long time, so can someone bring me up to speed on a few issues:</p>
<p>Is there a "summer" phase to pledging? Local mixers, etc? We are out of state that would be an issue.</p>
<p>When does pledging begin in the Fall and is there a pledge period in Spring for all fraternities, or just those with space.</p>
<p>Do some fraternities fill up their pledge class over the summer?</p>
<p>Any ideas on costs or time involved? He will have to keep a pretty high grade point avg to keep his scholarships.</p>
<p>Can you pledge your sophomore year?</p>
<p>Lastly--what is Greek life like at A&M these days? "Back in the Day" we had dorm mixers, etc since we didn't have co-ed dorms that worked pretty well to meet people.</p>
