I was wondeing bout the greek life at Tech. Its halfway through my first semester at Tech and I wanna try and get involved with a Fraternity or just attend some parities. I havent really been able to meet anyone cause I live off campus. Is there anyway to do that? are the parties generally closed doors only brothers...I am a guy so I no I cant just walk in to most.

This is not my first year in college just my first at tech, so any help would be great.

If there’s a cop out front, it’s an open party (closed parties do not require police at the door checking IDs). Guys can just walk into open parties if you want, but it will be pretty awkward by yourself if you don’t know anyone.

The best thing to do is simply meet people, make friends, then talk to your new friends about their fraternities and visit their house when they have parties. If you don’t really know people on campus, join some clubs or start a study group and meet people that way. There are literally hundreds of clubs on campus that fit all sorts of interests.

If you don’t want to do that, all you can really do is rush. Most houses have Spring Rush in January, but it’s very short (just a few days) and isn’t as busy as Fall Rush. But it’s still a good way to meet people and get to know the houses on campus.

Yeah thats what I figured about the Greek life. The only problem is that it is the middle of the semester, so it is harder to meet people.

I feel like this may be reaching out to far but if anyone needs a DD let me know, cause I don’t drink that much at all. I’m 22 and experienced in dealing with drunks as I am from GA Southern haha. Im just looking into meeting people since I know no one even though ive gone to GT for almost 2 months…any way anyone can help would be great.

I am interested in rushing next year, is there anyway I could help out with your fraternity to see what yall are like before rush?
