I will most likely be attending NU in the fall, and I am currently contemplating whether or not I want to join a sorority. However, I have been reading CC threads on Greek Life in other schools costing from 5,000-10,000 a year! That seems to be a little ridiculous to me- has anyone been involved at sororities at NU? How expensive was it per year?(including dues, outings, necessary attire, etc.?)

Jazmine - my D belongs to a sorority and it costs $350 per semester…and then another $30 or so for special but not mandatory tee shirts.

Thanks so much!

The great thing about sororities and frats in Boston is that it is an instant connection to NEU and the other schools in the city and it offers quite a few social and community service opportunities to meet people. Good luck!

My son just joined a frat which is quite surprising to me but he is very enthusiastic about the whole thing! I will let you know what the cost is when I find out. I don’t think the price is anything like that-maybe that is for places where you live in a house.
