I've applied as a sophomore transfer to UM and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the sororities/greek life there. Thanks!

Greek life at Miami is perfect in my opinion. It's not insignificant, greeks definitely have a large presence on campus, but it's also not huge like it is at many state schools. You will have friends in your fraternity/sorority, but not all of your friends will be from there. You will spend a significant amount of time with your fraternity/sorority, but not all of your time. If you choose not to go greek, you will still have a social life. The rules in general tend to be less strict than what I've heard about chapters at larger schools. I'm in a sorority at UM and I love it and would probably not be in one if I went to a school with a large greek system.

Could I pledge in the fall as a sophomore? Also, could you tell me a little about each of the sororities? If you dont want to in the thread feel free to please message me!
