Greek Life

Lately I've been interested in Greek Life, but can't seem to find any sororities that suit me or what not (maybe I'm just not meant to join).

Out of curiosity though, for the Greek organizations NOT registered with Rutgers, are they necessarily bad? I was interested in rushing Iota Sigma Beta, for example, which is a women leadership sorority but it is not registered with Rutgers. But it seems somewhat legit.

Or how about Gamma Sigma. I think it is a co-ed fraternity, but I was a bit skeptical about it, haha. I've never heard of it before. It seems kind of shady.

I would recommend looking at the national websites of every sorority your interested in joining or co-ed fraternity. Afterwards maybe search them on Facebook and see how the chapters at other schools look like? I’m personally hoping the fraternity I’m currently in isn’t so bad at Rutgers since it’s a different chapter with a different group of people. Your not interested in Panhellenic Council sororities?

I’ll take a gander at some of the Panhellenic Council sororities.

In terms of Panhellenic Associations . . . the only ones that interest me are any Latin based, multicultural-based, and Alpha Chi Omega. I’ll take your suggestions to look at their websites. I’ll browse pictures. Check out their mission statement and philanthropy.

Thanks!

If anyone have any other suggestions (or even know about the 2 Greek organizations I mentioned in the first post or about any other sororities) feel free to respond!

AXO is actually quite a popular sorority. I lived next door to them at my other school (Purdue) and they really well-respected in the Greek life system over there. Best of luck though.

^ Thanks! I think I might check out AXO. They seem like one of few sororities that are taken seriously around here and are respected (them and Delta Gamma).

EDIT: What Fraternity were you involved in (or currently involved in) at your school?

I was involved in Alpha Sigma Phi, 10th oldest fraternity in the US. I’m still a brother but try to be involved by knowing what is going on over there and I try to visit once in a while.

DG is also really well respected at Purdue also. AXO and DG both have great looking girls too. :)

^ The Alpha Sigma Phi guys here seem cool. They aren’t a-holes, haha. They have a house right on College Avenue too!

Really? I do hope so. I don’t even know the streets or the campus either… haha
