Greek Mythology or Classical Studies at American University?

We know that American University doesn’t have a Classics major however we are wondering if any one or any one’s child has taken any Mythology, greek classical literature (Ovid, etc…), ancient greek civilization classes at American University? We have looked at the course catalog and found a few that may fall under those categories but wanted to know what the courses were like and if others are offered we couldn’t find. Thank you!

If you’re looking for a classics program in the DC area, GWU would be a better bet than American. It has some very distinguished scholars on faculty (e.g. Eric Cline and Christopher Rollston).

AU also participates in the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area which provides students the opportunity to take courses at other universities not offered at AU. So technically you could be enrolled at AU and take classics courses at GWU, Georgetown, etc…However I don’t know the specific requirements in order to take advantage of this.
