Greek Row Life???

I am a freshman who will be living in Greek Row this year at UW. Im not in a sorority but I am renting a room thats where the greeks are. I was wondering what it is like to live in that area. Are there parties every friday and saturday. I heard the band marches through there before games, is that true? Any other good (or bad) things about living near the greeks. And how is it different from living in a dorm? (better than dorming???)

I have no direct experience…but a friend of mine that lives in an apt on greek row says it’s pretty loud most nights of the week (not just weekends).

It does get loud however, it should not be too disturbing. I found that near the greeks, the streets are trashed. Nevertheless, it is not too bad. I cannot say which living situation is better the other. I think that for a freshman, dorming is actually pretty good experience. On the other hand, living in a room away from the college does have its own benefits such as independence.
