Greek System?

What is the general consensus of Greeks at big public universities? (especially Mizzou?) I'm considering joining a frat but I'm afraid it won't be diverse at all. I'm also want to party though and I've heard the best parties are Greek. thanks.

At any school, there will be a rush period, which will allow you to determine for yourself which houses are sufficiently diverse, and generally meet with your needs. While the fraternities at Mizzou have a nasty reputation for hazing and other questionable activity, it would be unfair to make a blanket statement about campus greek life. You’d be best served by taking advantage of the rush period to look around, while also speaking with non-Greek students who’ve been on campus for a couple of semesters, as they can give you additional insight. Be care not to place excessive emphasis on any one opinion or claim, and to appreciate the hyperbole often used by both Greeks and non-Greeks. Once you’ve done all that, all you can do is choose from the bids offered to you and select the one you feel most comfortable with. If you aren’t satisfied with your options, or you become disallusioned during the pledge process (happened to me elsewhere) you can always de-activate, no matter what they might tell you.
