What is the fraternity scene at richmond like? Popular? Do they have houses? etc..

Frats have lodges at which they throw parties on the weekends, but they don't live in the houses. The greek scene is a nice social outlet on campus that's available to all students, but you don't have to be a member of a frat to go to most of their parties. I forget the stat, but I think 35-40% of guys are in a frat and 50% or so of the girls are. I was an independent but had friends in every frat. Greek life is currently regressing across the country due to liability issues and the same can be said for UR's frats. I'm not sure about the new president's stance on greeks, but the former administration wasn't too keen on them, so they have dwindled in size over the last 10 years at UR.
