Green Card- Disadvantaged?

Hello,

I was just wondering if green card holders were treated the same manner as US citizens in terms of the application process. I know a few classmates from school with quite speculator stats but were rejected from certain colleges due to the fact that they were non-citizens. However, my question is, are green card holders classified in the same group as non-citizens or citizens when colleges are trying to decide whether or not to accept you?

Thank you for your time.

They are in the same group as US citizens. I have a Green Card and has not been rejected thus far.

Their citizenship status wouldn't matter as long as they have permanent residency in the US.
