<p>Has anyone selected the Green House under Special Interest Communities?</p>
<p>It is currently my second choice, below Apollo-- I am going in order of cheapest housing.</p>
<p>It sounds like a nice community to live in.</p>
<p>what exactly are those special interest communities? i saw those as an option but had no idea what they meant exaclty</p>

<p>It is time to complete your housing preferences. This email reminder is being sent out to all incoming first-year students. If you no longer need on-campus housing, please reply to this email with your name, PID, and a request to cancel your housing.</p>
<p><strong><em>Special Interest Housing</em></strong>
Housing and Residence Life offers several special interest communities for 2009-2010. Special interest communities are designed to provide residents with an opportunity to live and interact with others who have similar interests, backgrounds, or academic goals.</p>
<p>Special events, activities, trips, resources, and academic initiatives may be offered to residents who live in special interest communities. Several of our special interest communities offer the opportunity for residents to register for designated Strategies for Success (SLS 1501) courses. This year, the Out of State Student, the Community Service (new in fall 2009), and the Freshman Exploration communities will have designated SLS courses for their residents.</p>
<p>The Green House community is also a new initiative for 2009-2010. This community will be geared towards residents who are interested in learning about and participating in recycling, conservation and sustainability initiatives.</p>

<p>Once you have decided on a Special Interest Community, you will need to select that specific community in your housing preferences on myUCF. You have until May 1, 2009, to complete your preferences by logging into myUCF then select Student Self Service > Housing > Preferences. Please make sure to select your preferred community in the drop-down box for your special interest housing preference. You may change your preferences until May 1, 2009.</p>
<p>You are not required to select a special interest community to live on-campus. If you are not interested in a special interest community then leave your drop down menu empty.</p>
