While I still see overachievers on this website striving for "excellence", I can still feel the pure competitive tension in the ambiance, mostly asians of course. I myself am an asian, something I loathe being, it forces the eyes of people to believe what they see--the overachiever that cares nothing but the prestige of an institution, the name. As I'm discussing my views, I'm a Junior with little motivation and aspirations, at the moment. I never study; I never utilize the goldness of time to my advantage; I'm basically setting my self to my demise, my ultimate suicide, something that I must hope will change. I'm taking AP English, AP American History, AP Biology, and AP Calculus; I have received quite a few C's and B's thus far. Sigh...

thanks for sharing my fellow asian...but you know what...you're not the only one. I lose my self esteem when i come on this site. "Should i retake the SAT? I got a 2300" .."i think i'm failing..i got a 90 on my AP Physics" "will colleges not accept me cause i have a 3 on my AP chem exam" ***? i'm sorry. but seriously. i share your pain. i'm not an overachiever as many people may think. i am an average kid according to CC. and o yes..i am approaching my ultimate suicide as well...last AP US exam = 75..ouch

Don't be discouraged! I'm sure you're doing fine; just don't hold yourself to impossible standards, 'cause then you'll be unhappy. Really, just enjoy high school without getting caught up in all the little details and challenges. And definitely don't compare yourself to others, especially on CC -- nobody's circumstances are the same.

Lolol, weren't you like, "I will commit seppuku if I receive even a single B this term!!11one1!" a few months back? Quite the change, eh?

Oh, and hi! ;D

[oooh, and for advice I'd offer the following: find a subject that you're passionate about and pursue it; don't bother so much with the boring stuff (Bs and Cs are fine for those). Your life won't change much if you were mediocre in US History and your intended career lies in, say, marine biology. Just dedicate yourself to whatever field interests you and cast off the rest)

My U.S. history teacher in the 8th grade said that MIT has the highest suicide rate.

Anyway, in my highschool, the academic competition is fairly easy, yet compared to CC, Im an average student ;(. So don't feel bad, average on CC is actually a good thing. It means you will actually go to college and earn a decent salary. Stop setting unrealistic goals that will painfully hurt you in the long run.

p.s. Go to youtube and search ndtitanlady; she might cheer you up :).

Haha, nice to see someone else in CC who has C's and B's too. :)

We screwed up a bit in high school but we'll come out all right, if we can stop watching adult swim and reading Harry Potter instead of Hamlet. xP
