To everyone who has been receiving their letters within the past few days, does your letter also come with financial aid? I'm an early write but I'm terribly anxious for my financial aid package!

This has already been answered (it does), but it's worth note that if they don't have your finalized information (actual tax forms instead of FAFSA guesstimates) the aid award is a preliminary letter, and when they get the final information is when they send you a letter you sign and return.

I got my financial aid information today, and I'm extremely happy! The aid I received was generous and was definitely enough to keep Grinnell at the top of my list. I'm ecstatic. :)

i havent heard back yet, but im hoping the fact that i live on the east coast means that my letter is just taking its time to get here. i kind of feel like they're holding back all rejection letters. i mean, youd think one reject would have posted on this board by now. oh well, grinnell's a reach anyway!

It taking longer doesn't always point to rejection- sure, sometimes it does, but I've heard people getting letters a week later than other CCers but still getting in. Don't worry about it until you actually read the letter. I thought I would be rejected from one of my semi-safeties because I didn't get the accepted email... was accepted into Honors! Funny how that happens.

I haven't gotten mine in PA but Grinnell was a reach... I'm not really on pins and needles because I've gotten a lot of nice news so far...

So everyone who is still waiting/accepted go to your pioneerweb account and click on change address. There is a space for your email. Has it been changed to lastnamefirstinitial@grinnell.edu? Because mine has and I haven't heard from them yet and I'm wondering if it means anything.

I was accepted and it is in that format. I don't really know what that indicates because I did not notice that before. good luck to those who are still waiting!

I'm really hoping you're onto something with the pioneerweb e-mail address!

My letter hasn't come yet, but my address is changed. Please let this mean I'm in...

On a side note, I seriously think the mailman is hoarding my college mail. I was supposed to get several decisions and a financial aid packet today, and none of them have come. See if he gets a Christmas present next year.

I wish my mailman would hoard my mail at this point. All the sudden I'm getting these e-mails from colleges where I already withdrew my application telling me my decision is in the mail or will be posted online or whatever. A couple nights ago I got a congratulatory e-mail from Duke saying I was accepted, from the very admissions counselor I told to withdraw my application in February.

Well, I guess it's good for my ego (although I'll probably come out behind on accepts/rejects if I get a bunch of decision letters), but I'm already committed to Grinnell. It bothers me that I'm getting accepted somewhere, and taking a spot from someone else, when I've already "confirmed" a withdrawal of my application.

I guess I can understand that, but still...

So anyways, about the @grinnell.edu, does anyone NOT have that as their address? If a rejected student could confirm that theirs didn't change, I think that would make a pretty strong case for assuming acceptance if your email was changed to @grinnell.edu.

I also have the Grinnell email address, however, I do not know if that indicates wheather or not I was accepted. Also, I did not check before hand.

Ok, so I have tried to email to my grinnell address, however the address was rejected; I do not think that it means anything, however I hope that I'm wrong.
