Hello everybody!

I posted this in the Grinnell College subforum but received nothing but several views, so I decided to re-post it here, as it would be more relevant.

Basically I'm considering applying ED to Grinnell, but the school website says that applicants interested in the Grinnell International Special Scholarships should apply via Regular Decision. So I'm wondering whether it is worth waiting until mid-January to be considered for the scholarship, trading off the ED card. I mean, how competitive, really, is the scholarship? How many scholarships are given? I'd also be more than happy to know about stats of applicants given the scholarships, to get a better knowledge of my chances.

Btw, I'm from Vietnam :D.

Thanks!

P.S.: Not necessarily all those details, though :D. Just some information about the scholarship or students given the scholarships is very much appreciated :).

Grinnell is very competitive. That scholarship is very competitive among admitted internationals. You can do the math, right?

In other words: if you don’t need financial aid, apply ED. If you need financial aid, apply RD and keep your fingers crossed you’re competitive for the scholarship. :)

OK some probably I will wait until RD round for a seemingly hopeless chance for the scholarship :D.

Thank you very much!

P.S. Any other information about the scholarship is still very much appreciated! :D

I know it’s not the answer you wanted. However Grinnell gets more competitive year after year, the pool changes every year, and the criteria are holistic so we can’t give you more info than this… Sorry. :s If there are Grinnell Scholarship winners, I hope they’ll post here though. But essentially: do the absolute best you can and keep your fingers crossed.

Yeah fine, I’ll try my best ;). Thank you!
