@latinvibes I honestly don’t know anymore… I’m super confused and this is the first financial aid package I’ve gotten and I’m first gen so my parents don’t know either. My counselor said to show her in person because she’s 100% sure I read it wrong, made a mistake, or didn’t report my outside scholarships correctly. I’d really aporeciate it if you did let me know
@LindsayHarvard Don’t worry. I’m first-gen and all on my own too it looks like the “subtotal” is actually the amount of aid you’re getting, and they split it per semester, so both figures you see should add up to the annual cost.
Don’t worry be excited you got in and you will figure out the financial piece. If you need to correct information you will be able to and if you are reading it wrong then it will probably be what you need. Make sure you are looking at each semester, they are listed separately.
@LindsayHarvard Same problem for me too!! I was super excited to get in, but quite disappointed about the financial aid package.
I’m in the exact same boat - I got in (which came as a huge surprise so early!) and even got a scholarship, but it’s still probably not going to work out. That’s how it went with my EA schools too…
Congrats on all the early acceptances, this happend to my son 2yrs ago and he is a very happy Grinnellian.
@LindsayHarvard , @Eliza17 and @tensummers since Grinnell meets 100% of need i would suggested contacting the financial aid office at Grinnell, some paper work might still need to be processed or a mistake might have been made filling out the forms.
My D also received an early admission today–very exciting! She also got the Dean’s scholarship. We have to wait and consider all of her options, but she is very excited!
My S also got in early a couple of days ago – with great merit aid to boot! Anyone know if there’s a parents’ fb page for admitted and/or prospective students?
I applied RD and was notified I got in early, with a 20,000 per year Founder’s Scholarship. On the Grinnell College website it said that Founders is 10k a year and dean’s is 25k a year. What merit scholarships did your kids receive @smcirish and @squirrel3 ? If you don’t mind sharing
@elijaheliot, my D got the Dean’s Scholarship. Hope that helps!
@elijaheliot my S got the Founder’s Scholarship ($20K per year.)
I was just accepted RD with a Dean’s Scholarship (25 k/ year) and another merit grant (about 22 k, not sure if it’s renewable)! I’m so excited!! Did anyone get a President’s Scholarship?
@eyrar99 I know someone who got in with Presidents merit! She also got a likely from Stanford sooooo
My son got the Dean’s Scholarship for 25K per year.
Was anyone asked to complete a survey for Grinnell?
I was ^^
That goes out to all applicants
Has grinnell already notified its RD applicants? It sounds like several of you have heard already and we are wondering if the only thing left are deferred decisions - do they release decisions across all of March or are they largely finished?
The full RD isnt out yet, this is basically their “likely letter” but it’s actually official
What is a likely letter?
