Don’t see a thread for this group yet, so here we go! Last year, some RD kids got acceptances this week from Grinnell. Anyone hear anything yet?
My son applied RD. Nothing yet.
Hey guys
I am an international student applying RD
my problem is that
I took the SAT twice. the first time I got 1400 and in the second time I got 1440. I submitted my 1400 score and wrote it in the common app and didn’t mention the 1400 score. I was inept I know because I listened to someone who told me to do that. now I want to send my 1440 score. will they accept it from me and consider it in making my decision? or they already put the decision. and what should I tell them?
is that may harm my application?
@Escapism1973 I don’t understand. Why would you send your lower score? I think it’s too late now to send another score.
@homerdog . No I want to send the higher dude. I sent the lower to them which was 1400. now I want to send the 1440. do u get my point?
@escapism1973 You can send the 1440 (thru CollegeBoard or have your counselor send it), but no guarantees that the AOs will consider it as you missed the deadline of Jan 15. Further your last post is less than respectful, whether you are talking to a peer or adult, and you were talking to an adult.
@Escapism1973 wow. I would watch your tone. I wouldn’t admit you anywhere I’d you talk like that.
My point is that you sent the 1400 and not the 1440. And I didn’t understand why.
@homerdog I had a problem in my account on the college board. so, I couldn’t send the 1440 score. but now I get the account again, so I want to send it to support my application
@Mwfan1921 I’m sorry this was my way in writing I don’t mean anything bad. I respect u all.
ok. what is ur opinion should I send it or not? I think the AOs will consider it because they may not make the decision yet.
Yes, I would send it ASAP, there is nothing to lose
thanks a lot. Did you apply RD? @Mwfan1921
No @escapism1973 My daughter considered Grinnell, but did not end up applying. Good luck to you.
@Mwfan1921
thanks; I’m sorry for asking for much Qs. can u chance me?
1440 sat/ 750 sat 2 physics / 780 math1and2 / 3.75 GPA
I don’t do chances…your stats are good, although I don’t know how the 1440 is split between reading and math. The AOs will also closely consider other important aspects of your application such as course rigor, essays, ECs, and LORs. Good luck.
S19 in at Grinnell with a $22k/year merit scholarship!
Congratulations, homerdog!
@homerdog can I talk to you private?
@homerdog great news and great school!!! Congrats!
Wow–great news. D19 and S19 both just got accepted to Grinnell, each with $24K merit!!! This is so exciting and totally unexpected to get such great news for both so early.
My D19 accepted with $22K per year Founder’s Scholarship. She is so happy!
