Grinnell RD 2023

I also applied scholarship but no response till now. Does it mean that I’ll have to wait for RD results in March?

@Zeylanite I believe so. They don’t have rolling answers. Just this one time early answer and then regular decision that comes out in March.

@homerdog Alright, then just wishing for an acceptance maybe

Lots of kids still get merit money with the decisions in March.

@alexandra00 DS19 (1550/4.0UW) didn’t hear, either. Trying not to read anything into it, but it would have been awfully nice to get an early acceptance while he’s waiting for all those March decisions. I speculated that maybe he didn’t hear because he’s already visited/interviewed/done an overnight, so they know he doesn’t need to come visit in March. But who knows?! I should have stopped myself from checking this thread!

I feel like my D was extremely lucky! She applied Jan 7 and heard Feb 8. She is just so called … a ‘average excellent’ student.

what does “early write” mean? is it something earlier than ED1?

It’s an RD decision that comes earlier than the March RD decision date.

Are there other waves comin’?

@putinator I don’t believe so. I think they just do the one date of early write and then the regular March RD date.

Has anyone else been getting a lot of mail from Grinnell since applying? They have been sending me magazines, letters, and now a flip book. Is this a good sign? or just standard for all applicants?

I’ve been getting it too. I’m hoping it means good things, but I don’t really know ?

Anyone going to the Admitted Students Day next Monday?

I’ll be there with my daughter, @homerdog. Driving over from Chicago.

@microbial40 I’ll be curious of your thoughts when you return. I’ve visited with our S19 back in fall of his junior year and we both liked it. My husband will go with him this time. S19 still waiting for ten RD acceptances so I love that we can knock out an admitted student day at Grinnell in March!

@homerdog We’re also still waiting for a handful of RD. We did the CWRU admitted students day last week. I agree that these early admitted students days are nice.

@homerdog My daughter will be there for the Admitted Students Day. Is anyone flying in from the NYC area?

My daughter is coming from Buffalo with her step mom

Are all of your kids going to stay in the dorms overnight? Or join a parent at their hotel if a parent is going?

Dorms. Kind of cra*pshoot about what experience you get and certainly could be “not representative”, but so is everything else about this process.
