@Zeylanite good luck to you with future decisions. I know it hurts.
@UMDreamer Thanks. In fact lots of decisions are still ahead for now.
@kokotg and @jhede1 Unlike some other schools, Grinnell actual admits a decent number of students off their wait list. I checked the CDS for the last two years: 2016/17 1032 students waitlisted 395 accepted spots 97 admitted
2015/16 1224 waitlisted 474 accepted spots 18 admitted
There are lots of threads with advice on how to get off wait lists if you are interested. If you are unsure, I suggest accepting the spot and spending a few days thinking about it.
For the last few years grinnell has matriculated more first years than expected. This resulted in many students placed in forced triples. If this trend continues the likelihood that they will need to look to their waitlisted students to fill in gaps is very very slim. Because they just realeased rd decisions today it’s hard o say how their rd numbers stack up against last year.
^^ that’s very true. our class was very, very big. the school was begging people to live off campus to make room for us. even then, i know people who were put into forced triples (rooms that were made for two but had to house three).
Class of 2022 only had 12 waitlisted students that were ultimately accepted. Not a high degree of probability. It’s becoming exceptionally popular and they are doing a great job of selling the school to accepted students!

I think my essay was pretty good as well.
I wasn’t expecting to get in and I’m definitely okay with a waitlist. Most of the people I have seen that have been accepted have much better stats than me. However if you’re looking at this and thinking about
applying for fall 2020 and beyond I would encourage you to do so regardless of your test scores. My scores were definitely the weakest point of my application, but I tried my hardest to make myself shine in other aspects. Liberal arts colleges tend to be more lenient (in my experience) when it comes to standardized testing so if you love Grinnell you should apply.
Waitlisted, from India, a full-ride candidate. Well.
Just found out that I was accepted today with $20,000 in merit aid!! Congrats to everyone else who has been accepted!

Has anyone not received their email to log in to their portal yet? Seems like everyone has received the email except for me.
Little sister got in with an average SAT, it’s possible guys. The SAT isn’t everything, she had a worthy gpa, class president, a lot of demonstrated leadership, outstanding letters of rec, and genuinely insightful essays. Congrats to those that got in and good luck to those who didn’t, I know you’ll find a great place.
