@mrjsmom I am an international student and we donāt have the GPA system at my high school- it is the percentage system. My test scores are:
ACT: 35
SAT: 1500
Math 2 and Physics subject test: 800
TOEFL: 113/120
@bogeyorpar it says āone of the highest honorsā which makes sense
so interesting to see all of your posts! Keep them coming and good luck to all! Our S19 plannng on applying next year and this is all good info!
@erdoswiles Thanks! Very impressive. Congratulations again.
@lacscn, good catch, didnāt notice the āone ofā. Apparently the amount various in Founderās. Iāve read someone got $10K, someone got $20K, and DS got $24K. Has anyone got the $25K Deanās or $50K Presidentās yet? Or maybe they eliminated those this year and just give more people Founderās?
Did anyone see the waitlist response form?
No, I couldnāt find it anywhere on my applicant status page.
Congratulations! On behalf of Grinnell College, I am delighted to offer you admission to the Class of 2022. You have every reason to be proud of this achievement ā you were chosen from among a large and talented group of applicants.
In fact, we were so impressed by your accomplishments that we have awarded you the Founderās Scholarship. This merit-based award provides you $16,000 each year for the next four years. That is a total merit-based scholarship of $64,000 for your study at Grinnell. This is one of the highest honors that we can bestow upon a newly admitted student, and it speaks to the level of confidence that we have in your abilities and fit for Grinnell.
For the past few months, the Office of Admission has been carefully reviewing applications in an effort to find those students who can both benefit from and contribute to this vibrant community of scholars. As you have come to learn, Grinnell is a special place where students are expected to assume tremendous responsibility for their education and for the conduct of their daily lives. I have every confidence that you will not only meet this challenge, but thrive in this environment. Please know that you will not walk this path alone. In the coming months, you will come to know faculty members, staff members, and classmates who will accompany you on this journey. It is inevitable that, as much as you will be shaped by your time at Grinnell, so too will Grinnell College be shaped by your presence here. It is fair to say that neither will ever be quite the same again.
We want to give you every opportunity to explore the College and to see why we think you and Grinnell are a good match. To that end, we are holding two on-campus programs for admitted students in April. Consider joining us April 8ā9 or April 22ā23, 2018 for a program that will provide you and your family with an in-depth look at Grinnell College. Register online at admission.grinnell.edu/portal/asp for either program. Space is limited, so please submit your program registration as soon as possible.
The Office of Financial Aid has informed us that you are applying for need-based financial aid. To view the status of your financial aid file, please use your new Grinnell College login information:
Thatās what I got
DD was accepted! Got a lovely $16K scholarship as well. Still probably out of reach for us, but it is nice to have some options. (She was rejected at Bowdoin today - her brotherās alma mater - so nice to get an acceptance from another great school.)
D accepted with 16K annual scholarship along with very generous need based aid making this extremely affordable for us.
D accepted with 20K annual scholarship. I was surprised, as she was not one of the early admits invited to the weekend.
