These 3 colleges offered me admission and i'm thinking which to choose. I've heard that the first 2 have better academics than Lafayette while the last has the best location. I want to study Art History and Psychology by the way.
Help me with advice!PLEASE!

Congratulations, verycurious! Those are 3 great choices you have.

I'm very excited because I've been admitted to Lafayette. While I don't know much about the other schools, I know that Grinnell is in a very rural area and Bates is in an urban setting (by Maine standards!), so that's something to consider if you have any urban/rural preferences or feelings.

As for Lafayette, I know the area fairly well, and am leaning strongly toward the school. Easton is an up-and-coming small community with coffeehouses, restaurants, and a "College Hill"-type neighborhood immediately around the campus. Many of the places that students would go are right within walking distance. As for the campus itself, it's set on top of a hill with a cozy older neighborhood around it. The surrounding Lehigh Valley offers many of the amenities of a city (malls, movie theaters, chain restaurants, etc.). Lehigh, Muhlenberg, and several other colleges are also within easy driving distance. New York and Philadelphia are also both about an hour away, and easy for students without cars to get to by public transport.

As for psychology, I hear Lafayette has a first-rate program. They also have a well-respected neuropsychology program with a great facility.

Good luck with your choices! Maybe I'll meet you on campus this Fall!

Thanks for info! Maybe,maybe:))

Congratulations on your acceptances. The academics at Grinnell are rigorous and first rate, and graduate schools are well aware of Grinnell. It is a college with a sense of community. Students learn in a cooperative evironment rather than in a cutthroat atmosphere. The professors are top notch and make themselves available for you both in and out of class. They take an interest in you and really want you to succeed. For the most part, the students seem to be very happy there and are glad that they chose Grinnell. No college is going to have 100% student satisfaction and happiness. While Grinnell is indeed in a rural location, the school brings in many activities and events for its students. The only issue is having enough time and choosing all that you want to do. Also, you are an hour or less away from Iowa City and Des Moines. Actually, Iowa City is a great college town.

While I was accepted ED, had I not been, Bates would have been one of my top three or four choices. Good luck in your choice.

Thanks for information. So you're going to Grinnell? don't you know anuthing about the weather there?

i mean "anything"

Verycurious,

Yes, I will be attending Grinnell. I have been told that winter had been mild the past couple of years. However, about a month ago classes were cancelled for a day because of the storms that came through. Last month, when my mother was talking to someone at the school, they mentioned that it was minus 12 degrees without the windchill factor. One just has to remember that the Midwest is subject to rough periods of weather. When I visited Grinnell last August, it was in the nineties. Also, my father talked with someone from New England who many years ago went to both Middlebury and Trinity. The guy said that even by New England standards, Maine is cold. Hope this gives you a little info.

It does:)Thanks. And why did YOU choose Grinnell and even aply ED? Why not Bates or other top LAC's? Was it your visiting the campus or legacy?
