Where would you go? why? I'm having a hard time deciding between them, I mean while McGill has a nice rep. in Asia their funding problems and class sizes ( 600 + for first years) are kind of turn offs, Grinnell on the other hand, isn't as famous internationally but has a great endowment thanks to Warren Buffet and 15 or so students per class. Where would you chose to go?

I would go with McGill. It is in the heart of an amazing city, and although the class sizes can be harsh, the overall quality of education is very good. And besides, the class sizes get much smaller the farther along you go (huge for 1st years, but not nearly as big for 4th years).

Grinnell is the place to go if you want a top-notch education and be happy. Wonderful, wonderful school.

But McGill has a better international reputation. It's also a very different educational experience - good academics but in a public university setting, and in a much different environment (heart of Montreal vs. rural Iowa).

Exactly. It's also definitely much cheaper, and the student body is much more diverse.

Grinnell. It's a wonderful place with lots of happy undergrads.

could somebody give me an estimate of normal upper year class size for majors like econ/ political science? ( McGill) also how hard is it to registar for classes in McGill, do spots fill up very quickly? How hard is it to get a good GPA and recs from professors for grad school? Thanks!

McGill. Obviously.

I AGREE WITH NAFF.... McGill!
