GRIPS 2019 (Stanford GeneCamp)

Has anyone who applied heard back from GRIPS yet? someone I know already got accepted and another person got an interview. I haven’t gotten either, has anyone else not gotten anything/heard from them?

i’ve already gotten accepted to the program. fyi they said they’re accepting roughly 20 people this year, and usually not more than 1 person from each HS

@zhangtom54321 congratulations on your accomplishment. If you don’t mind sharing which high school you are from and also some tips on what was asked in the interview? Which aspect of your profile attracted them to select you?

Thanks! i go to monta vista, and they said they were interested me because of my strong cs background, especially some projects I’d in the past involving machine learning & data science. I don’t really have tips for the interview, was pretty generic for me, just be yourself and you should be good

@zhangtom54321 congrats! when did you get the interview call and the acceptance letter?

Did any one else got into GRIPS program for this summer? Do they send reject emails?

Great. Just great. @zhangtom54321 has provided us all with incorrect information. I was under the impression that only 1 person from each school gets into this program, due to the information passed by @zhangtom54321. In anger, I blocked the email id of the summer program once I learned that my friend who was on waitlist got into the program-- under the assumption that I didn’t get off the waitlist. I recently learned that 3 students from my school were accepted into this program. I immediately looked through my blocked emails and found numerous emails from the email id telling me that I had infact been accepted to the summer program and they were looking for me to start soon. Sadly, due to the lack of my response, that position has now been revoked and given to someone else.

I can’t believe I trusted this website so much. Some people just want to make themselves feel better by spreading around false information. I’ve always thought of college confidential as a constructive network for all of us to help each other in the roadway to college. However, I’ve now found myself having lost the opportunity to do research at a great institution due to the deceitful responses of others on this forum. Being from the bay area myself, I understand that there is a large, competitive nature for summer programs and other programs, but this is absurd.
