I live at Dav and my roommate and I have been wondering if we're allowed to have groceries delivered to our dorm (by Peapod/Stop & Shop or whatever). We were thinking we'd give them a phone number so they could call us when they got here to deliver the groceries. Is this feasible/allowed?

Well I know people do it with pizza and chinese food so there’s not much a difference with groceries.

Uh, yes there is. When you order pizza, you know you’ll be home when it shows up.

I’ve heard of people doing it before, but my only friend that tried to ended up cancelling it because the delivery person was having issues with letting them know when they were there. The main problem is that they are NOT allowed to leave it for you- nor is any delivery person for that matter. I know of at least two flower deliveries that got screwed up because the delivery person didn’t want to wait so they just marked it as undeliverable. Peapod should be okay with it because they do a lot of trips to college dorms… but I’d call and make sure it’s okay, just in case.
