Waitlist. How sad. Sigh. SIGH. SIGH.

@helang425: I’m not sure if taking off financial aid will help your chances with getting accepted. I do know some people who were accepted off the waiting list as financial aid applicants, so it does happen. You should probably ask admissions about that though :)

and to everyone on the waitlist: like MDMomofTwo said- don’t give up! Being waitlisted means that they want to accept you but just don’t have room. Just be patient and maybe you’ll get some good news later. A lot of people get accepted to schools and chose not to go. Getting accepted off the waiting list isn’t uncommon, and even if you don’t get accepted this year you always have next year!

@pulsar Groton does tend to gravitate more towards readers, I’m a self-defined book junkie and I got in last year. BTW, could you pm me with your identity? I go to Groton also and I’d like to know who you are.

I assume it’s less competitive if you apply to 2nd form because very few people even know about the 2nd form at Groton, correct me if I’m wrong.

Well you asked so I will say it @aegsch-I THINK you are wrong- there are only 27 places at that age- half boys, half girls- and there are LOTS of applicants. According to the AO this year the II form had a LOT of applicants- and you are also competing against teacher’s kids (who are clearly day students). So it is no walk in the park at II grade either!
But exact numbers are very hush hush

I assumed that the 2nd form acceptance rate was around the same as the 3rd.

Is anyone else here going to the revisit on March 31 - April 1?

No Y’ubi we just went ahead and mailed in our acceptance letter and the deposit check!!

I got accepted too!! And yeah I agree with everyone about the acceptance letter, I was so great!!!
@ YellowUbi
I’m going to the March 31st- April 1st acceptance day.

My son is waitlisted in Groton - not sure how to approach them - he really wants to go there - any advice

@AmmaOn: I’d definitely call the interviewer and ask if you’re still on the waitlist, as well as ask about how to get off of it.
