Group Projects :(

I differ from most of you because I like group projects, it lessens up the amount of work.

I'm not sure if I could handle a CC group project. I''m just a controll freak in general. I hate it when someone takes over 100% which most likely would happen.

i got a B for an english group presentation last semester
dragged my entire grade down like hell

in all my group projects, i did all of the work. or, just so they could have the satisfaction of doing something, they would paste parts onto the poster or print photos from the internet (of course, with this, they wouldn't cite it or cited it as "google" so I'd have to ballpark all of these images by searching up "girl in 1600s" or something crazy like that)

but the grades are alright, usually from 95-100

the first time i didn't let me do all the work, we got an 85.

i hate projects in general, especially if they involve technology. whether or not it involves groups doesn't really matter. in elementary school, i disliked teachers who made us make shoe box storybooks or whatever. i always saw no point because there's no actual learning involved (most of the time). the project, if it's a poster or a shoebox or something physical, will be in the trash can soon enough -- it's just a waste of resources. and what do we learn from cursing technology that we'll never use again past high school? absolutely nothing.

if i do end up in a group project with a bad group, which doesn't happen very often, i just let the project flow (i've gotten C's and D's on projects before). my grade is usually high enough to sustain the blow anyway, so i don't really care. it's a group effort after all, so some get screwed for not doing work.

Groups projects do irritate me somewhat (although I don't "hate" them), but they're everyday practical realities in almost all workplaces - so except for the people who are planning to run successful Internet businesses or become successful novelists/artists (good luck with that) straight out of high school/college, everyone had better suck it up and smile through them.

I've never been in a group in which the work ends up being divided equally to each member. I always end up saving someone's ass which quite frankly I'm tired of doing.

So overall I don't hate group projects. I just find them annoying. But when paired up with the right people they can be great. However, that's just an impossibility in a crappy public school.
