People enrolled in ECE 2100 would have got this email today:

Greetings,

The following changes have been made to this class:

Changed Discussion 2 to Thurs 2:55-4:10
Changed the time for Labs 1, 2, and 3 to 1-4pm
Changed the day and time for Lab 4 to Thurs 1-4pm

If there causes problems for your schedule, please contact the instructor, Prof. Shealy.

Sandi

Now, this causes a big problem for me. Anyone taking ECE 2300, 2100, and another course in a particular slot (ie, CS 2800, 3110, or potentially 2110) has a schedule conflict because of this, with no possible schedules. So anyone who has any sort of problem with this please email the instructor Shealy, at shealy@ece.cornell.edu.

If they don't do anything I might just have to live with the conflict they put in my schedule and not go to ECE 2100 discussion. On that note, can anyone tell me if anything important happens in ECE 2100 discussion?

Email Shealy, I’m sure they have to do something. These are required courses for both majors (ECE 2100/2300 and CS 2800), so they have to accommodate people in this situation.

I got an email back from him, asking if it’s possible to overlap the section and the lab. His reply:
“Discussion session onlly before exams. I think we can work around these. I will. check on 2300 labs”

When he says “check on ECE 2300 labs” I said it might be possible that 2300 labs are the opposite weeks from 2100 labs, though this is unlikely.

Either way, this seems like good news, and I’m going to add the Thursday lab and section on top of each other.

You were dropped because you should have taken it last semester with me hoonose >_>

Also see you in 2800 or 2110 if you take either of those.

Also I wish 2200 was offered in the fall. 2200, 3140, and 3150 are all spring only and they’re the only further ece classes I have the prereqs for so i’m stuck taking no ece classes this semester since i took 2100 and 2300 freshmen year I’m taking 2 cs classes instead though :)

Yep, I’m in 2800 next semester, I’ll see you there. It is kinda weird that 2200 isn’t offered during fall, since it’s one of the basic courses for the major.

Also, an email was just sent out clearing up the whole situation:

The instructor for ECE/ENGRD 2100 has canceled the third discussion. Unfortunately, this also removed you from the lecture. You will need to enroll in the lecture again.

To better accommodate student needs, there have been additional changes made to ECE 2100.

*Discussion attendance *is optional. Three discussions will be offered - one before the 2 prelims and one before the final.

Lab times have been changed to 1:20 to 4:00 pm. Lab attendance is every other week.

Probably, though they might change it on JTF so that discussion is optional rather than required, meaning you wouldn’t have to add it. But as of right now, they haven’t. So yeah, paper.
