Grrrr

I'm annoyed at my grades. I get A's (90-94) but this year I havent gotten an A+ (95 and up) in any of my honors classes nor in either of my elective classes (comp app and art). Im number 10 out of 360, but this is just like bothering me a lot and I feel like it looks bad to colleges and stuff. Like, the val. has ALL A+s. My UW gpa for this year is 4.07 out of 4.5 and the W gpa is 4.53 out of 5.0. Im hoping next year i can do betterr and have like 4.25 - 4.33. But..does anyone else have this problem..like they get low As but not as high as they want. it feels silly to even care about this but I cant help feeling like having an A instead of an A+ looks bad.

People say grrr too much.

Study harder. Suck up to your teachers. Ask for extra credit.

GRR.. its my thing. lol. I study really hard and suck up to my teachers a lot. they like me but its all numerical unfortunately. There's virtually no extra credit most of the teachers think it's unfair.

I just need to i guess spend more time studying i guess i dunno. i dont think im doing anything wrong honestly, maybe im inept.

Yes, me too! I keep getting A-'s. In two classes taught by the same teacher I kept getting 100's on the quizzes and tests, which is pretty rare, but then bomb one major project, and it becomes an A-. It makes me so mad!

your grading system is slightly different from ours . . . 92-93 is an A- and 94-96 is an A . . . so a 90 or 91 here is a B+.

Yeah. An A in AP English is definitely respectable, but I've been hoping for a final grade of A+ because that significantly boosts my GPA.

Of course, our A+ is a 98-100, so most teachers aren't too liberal in giving them out.

A's are A's at my school

haha that's another over-used word.

This is the grading scale at my school.

A+: 100%+

A: 93% - 99%

A -: 90 - 92%

B+: 87% - 89%

B: 83% - 86%

B-: 80% - 82%

C+: 77% - 79%

C: 73% - 76%

C-: 70% - 72%

D+: 67% - 69%

D: 63% - 66%

D - 60% - 62%

F - 59.9% or less

my school's simple
90-100=A/4.0
89-80=B/3.0
74-79=C/2.0
73-70=D/1.0
69-0=F
1 point for AP
.5 for Honors

The End

Our school:

92-100 - A/4.0
90-91 - A-/3.7
88-89 - B+/3.3
82-87 - B/3.0
80-81 - B-/2.7
78-79 - C+/2.3
72-78 - C/2.0
70-71 - C-/1.7
No D's and no weighting (doh! :( )

Anywayyyy. (this is the OP by the way) Do you think this will look particularly bad to colleges, the fact that I didnt get the very best -A+s - in any of my honors classes ( i got A+ in religion and history)

Anyone use the regular scale, like mine?
90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
60-69 = D
0-59 = F
No +'s/-'s.

i dont call that a regular scale, but no. anyway...feel free to respond to ^^

Ok fine, the stripped down basic scale.

what school in MA do you go to?

Why are you complaining about getting all As? You can only complain if you get any Bs...

hey warchant, my school does that for semester grades, which are the ones on your transcript. quarter grades have + or - although, not all teachers use them. most just put the letter.

Any input??? I'll make a thread about grading scales, guys, really. but can someone tell me if this will matter at all for colleges?
