Grubers - Worth the time?

Is Grubers Complete SAT Guide 2008 actually worth the time to sit and go through all 1000 pages? Or should I just stick to only taking practice exams from the Blue Book?

Bump. :/

Use Grubers for strats and reviews and practice with the Blue Book.

^ What he said. I took part of a Gruber's Practice test, and it was nothing like the real one. So use BB for practice tests.

Well, it depends on your weaknesses. Gruber's is great at teaching those who are mathematically deficient (content or reasoning wise) how to think mathematically. If your math score is 500-600, then gruber's is definitely the way to go. If you're above 600, then I'd reccomend something else, something like Barron's 2400 or Kaplan 2400, since you'll most likely be bored with Gruber's.

Oh, and Gruber's reading/writing aren't anything special, so don't bother.

Hmm..thanks for that, I actually need a book with reading/writing strategies. Any suggestions?

Well, I'd say the best books would be Kaplan's SAT + Kaplan 2400. Those will prepare you well for all three sections.

i wonder if grubers will be helpful for me in math.. i got 640

the gruber's practice test at the end is pointless but its great for math as other people noted above. My math scored improved like 30-40 pts b/c of it.

for CR, go with grammatix :]
