Does anybody know when Columbia typically posts listings for GSAE events outside of New York? And is it possible to still apply ED if the GSAE event in one's area takes place after the ED deadline, so long as everything else in the application has been completed?

I’m not certain how the timing of the exam will relate to ED application status, to be safe, I would assume that the application is not complete until the GSAE score is recorded.

But for what it’s worth, when I asked GS admissions at the beginning of August about upcoming GSAE dates for Spring applications, this is what they told me:
“Our offices are currently working on setting an exam schedule for the General Studies Admissions Exams in support of our Spring 2011 admissions cycle. Please check back with our website in mid-September for the upcoming testing schedule.”

Excellent, thank you. I hope they get to Los Angeles before October.

Hi there - I had the same issue last year applying ED. The deadline for applications was March 1, but I was told that as long as I took the GSAE in March sometime I’d be fine. But you’re right, my application wasn’t complete until I took the test. I heard back about my admission on April 1.

@goestowashington:
Looks like a Los Angeles GSAE has just appeared, scheduled for 10/17.

I haven’t noticed any other exam events on the calendar yet.

Awesome, thanks.

AMorrison: That blows. Thanks for sharing.
