GSP Program

Is there enough time to finish the GSP program and also do two majors in Stern? Also any general information about the GSP program will be appreciated. Thank you.

Stern applicants are no longer referred to GSP. The vast majority of GSP students are applicants to CAS. If they maintain a certain gpa, they are guaranteed admission at the end of the two years of GSP to CAS.

yes there is time to do two majors in stern. a major is only a couple more classes which you can take using your elective credits. but like matth said stern refers very few kids to gsp. i am on the stern track in gsp right now as a freshman and there are only 8 kids total including myself going to stern out of 850 total gsp kids.

BigRed what were your stats when you applied? (GPA, SAT, EC's)? Thx

SAT 1: 1330
SAT 2, 710/710/760
gpa: 3.884 at a competitive nj high school when i applied
EC's: orchestra, fbla, a bunch of honor societes. but tennis was my main EC. i was recruited by nyu. a decent amount of the gsp-stern track kids are athletic recruits

Is it still possible for Stern applicants (few) to be referred to the GSP program?

So in comparison to ur stats:

Mine:

SAT: 1250-1300 (not sure)
SAT II: Math 1c - 590
GPA: 3.6 unweighted at competitive prep school in nyc
EC's: Started 2 companies, founder of a youth organization, internship at accounting firm, leader of business club, one of the starters of hurricane relief foundation in my school - just to name some of my most important EC's.

Working on the Essay...I'm planning on retaking SAT I or retaking SAT II's depending on how well I did on the October SAT I.

My chances are slim to none for Stern?

yes nyu is a big time sports program. they only recruit the big boys.

I'm sorry to say it, parikhs...but you're right. Your chances are slim to none. You need to get that SAT score up.

hhhuang are you in Stern? I remember seeing your name on last year's decisions thread. What were your stats like? Thanks.
