If you get GSP'd , can you still be pre-med? I really want to know this..

Just to be clear- GSP students graduate with the CAS or the stern kids of their batch right? I mean, GSP students get the same diplomas as the CAS students?

And why does eveyone say that GSP is high school extended? really curious bout this one

Well after two years, you're no longer in LSP, so the diploma and stuff is the same. In LSP, you get an associate's degree after 2 years and then your Bachelor's after two more years. So that's an upside to LSP.

Of course it's possible...LSP students can pick any major available at NYU. Why wouldn't they be able to do pre-med?
When I first got accepted to LSP, I hated it and thought it was 'high school for two more years' but it's not. The major differences between CAS (my intended school) and LSP is that LSP has smaller classes, and that your choice of electives is limited. You also can't declare your major until end of soph year, however, if you apply as pre-med, you will start taking classes related to pre-med right away - my LSP pre-med friend is already taking her classes 1st semester of freshman year.

Just as CAS has MAP classes, LSP has a core curriculum with required subjects. The one thing I don't like is how the choice of electives is more limited than CAS.

You can do pre-med in LSP however it is a little harder. Mostly, since you required to take all the general courses first, it is harder to take sciences first. When you start as a frehsman you are only allowed to take Calculus I or General Chem I.

It is more time constrained but in the end it works out. mssg me if you have more specific questions. I have to get back to hw! So much hw in the first 2 days...gah!

And btw, dont plan on doing pre-med/ Biology...you cant do that in LSP, the timing with courses doesnt work out unless your willing to take several summer courses.
