GSP is not competitive in the way that you're thinking, it's for students with good potential but not the grades or tests scores to get into NYU CAS. Two years of requirements to transfer into the "regular" school

My son has been accepted to these 2 programs- is undecided as to major and is having difficulty choosing between the two- any thoughts from CCers out there?

i live in maryland, and all my classmates will be going to maryland....they're dull people. If you have the finances to do it, I'd suggest NYU to him. I'm 100% sure he'll get more out of it than he would MD... not only are internship opportunities better, but the people are more diverse and he's got the CITY to learn from!! Maryland is in a suburbia where people like to stay in their little niches. If you want him to grow as a person and not rot, I, again, suggest NYU.

thanks for the input Jamie

you're very welcome

Stonecold, what were the stats of your friend? Did he have any hooks or anything of that sort?
