What’s goin on bro. I know you didn’t come here to ‘cure’ your tensions, and you just want to know what you should be working on. Honestly, aside from your GPA, you’re an excellent candidate for UGA.

I’m a senior at UGA, so I can speak on that. I dont have experience with Tech, but UGA you’re almost a sure bet to get in with those stats. Right now, you qualify for the HOPE scholarship, but a rough semester could easily lose it for you (it seems like you’re prone to rough semesters). So, I would work on my study habits and get those grades up, that way when you get to college, you got the whole studying thing down. Your SAT is fine for UGA. I got in with a similar score, and I know plenty more who got less.

Your EC’s are excellent, but you’re gonna have to make sure you PRESENT them equally as good as they sound in a list. What I mean is, you could have hours upon hours of community service, a laundry list of awards, 3 varsity sports under your belt, etc… but its how you present yourself AS AN APPLICANT when you’re trying to get into college.

I dont know if you’re written your essay yet, as you didn’t explicitly state if it was done yet, but this is just general advice since you asked what to work on. Make sure your essay can eloquently speak to your strengths, not list off what you’ve done. Explain HOW your experience with a given EC has influenced your leadership abilities, taught you patience, what have you. Your grades and SAT’s wont keep you out of either of the schools you want to go to, but they alone won’t get you in. Even if you had a 4.0 and 2400 SAT with 800 SAT II’s, you still rarely will get in on those alone. So, let your essay do the talking for you. You seem like an interesting person with a lot of good work under your belt throughout all of high school. You will be an asset to any college that is lucky enough to have you.

Keep working on your grades, but don’t stress about improvement on a million things. Your application is already solid. The main things that I would tighten up are:

-Grades / GPA / Study habits in general
-College essay / Practice writing & editing skills in general

Peace bro

chanceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
